The attention for the treatment of a wound should not stop only at the localized area of the injury, but it also evaluated the overall complexity of the clinical status of the patient. There are then only the obvious problems, macroscopic wound but even hidden, invisible to the eyes. Such an approach is called holistic approach to the care or treatment multidimensional.
We must be able to discern the ultimate cure of the lesion through a series of lenses that are not the traditional ones of local therapy, but they are slow holistic. We must then deal with the many factors that revolve around the lesion:
- The environment of the patient’s life where he spent the majority of his hours in order to understand the emotional factors, which are undergoing environmental stress. What is your relationship with your family, if it is followed by the “caregiver”. All this is important to understand what will be the attitude of the patient towards the therapist.
- Etiology know the cause of the lesion is paramount. This too is part of the holistic treatment, or whether it is a variable on which we can act, or is it just something that ‘for granted, unchangeable.
- Previous Therapies not just a simple list of the medications or drugs that the patient was taking, but his answer to everything. How has accepted the therapy, the results obtained, which was his attitude towards the previous therapists. There were no side effects, possible infections? All that has to deal with the therapist going to re-evaluate the patient for the new disease.
- Concomitant disorders a variable are difficult to deal with, but essential to know. The therapist can not think of acting only on the disease but local predisposing should keep an eye on the whole previous clinical. Neglecting what the patient brings with him in his luggage pathological is a big mistake on the part of the therapist, the evaluation should be done keeping an eye on the state of global health.
